FACTORY-DIRECT OEM / ODM MANUFACTURING
Custom Metal Product Services from Concept to Shipment
Gairun provides coordinated custom metal product services for event organizers, institutional procurement teams, corporate brand buyers and wholesalers. As an OEM/ODM metal crafts and awards manufacturer, we support projects from early artwork through engineering review, sampling, production coordination, branded packaging and shipment preparation.
You can begin with vector artwork, a PDF, a hand-drawn concept or a defined sourcing brief. Our team helps turn that starting point into an approved production plan. If you are still selecting a product format, review our custom metal products. If your requirements are ready, you can request a project-specific quotation.
Move Your Project Through One Connected Service Process
A custom metal order involves more than making the metal item. The artwork, dimensions, construction, surface treatment, attachments, packaging and shipping plan must work together. Our service process keeps those decisions connected while giving the buyer a clear approval point before each major commitment.
Detailed forming, plating, coloring and inspection operations belong to our manufacturing capability pages. The service path focuses on what you need to submit, review and approve as the order moves forward.
01
Requirement intake
We review the product concept, intended use, quantity, size, design variants and commercial needs.
02
Artwork and engineering
Our design and engineering teams prepare the visual proof and assess the proposed construction before mold work.
03
Sample planning
The buyer can review existing stock samples or request a custom sample for a design-specific assessment.
04
Production coordination
After the required approvals, the project moves into OEM or ODM production support with progress follow-up.
05
Packaging and fulfillment
Packing, transport mode and trade terms are aligned with the order and destination.
Turn an Initial Idea into an Approved Artwork Proof
Production-ready vector files are useful, but they are not required to start a discussion. Our design team can work from vector artwork, PDFs and hand-drawn concepts. We can provide a free 2D or 3D artwork proof within 24 hours.
The proof gives the buyer a defined visual reference for the custom product. Depending on the design, it may show shape, dimensions, front and back content, relief, color areas, metal borders or component positions. The buyer reviews this proof before mold work begins. That review reduces the risk of building tooling around an incorrect layout or an outdated file.
Artwork approval does not mean that every later production decision is fixed automatically. Changes to size, construction, attachments or finish may require another review because they can affect the mold or production route. Buyers who need focused file support can review our artwork design and proofing service.
Check Design Feasibility Before Tooling Begins
Engineering review connects the visual design to a workable custom metal product. Before mold work, our team may review dimensions, thickness, relief details, metal borders, color areas, attachments and the proposed production method. The exact review points depend on the product structure and artwork.
For example, a raised design may need enough visual separation between relief levels. Enamel areas may need metal borders that keep colors divided. A moving or assembled product may require a review of component positions and attachment points. These checks help identify conflicts while changes can still be made in the proof.
The result is a clearer basis for tooling, sampling and quotation. It is not a general promise that every concept can use the same material or forming route. Projects with complex relief, multiple parts or functional features require an individual assessment. Our engineering review service covers these pre-tooling decisions in more detail.
Choose Between a Stock Sample and a Custom Prototype
A stock sample and a custom sample answer different purchasing questions. A stock sample helps you review general workmanship, metal finishes, enamel surfaces or packaging presentation. A custom sample is made for your design and supports approval of its specific appearance and construction.
| Sample route | Best used for | Commercial and timing facts |
|---|---|---|
| Existing stock sample | General review of product workmanship, finishes or presentation | The existing sample is free. Courier, freight or other delivery cost is confirmed separately. |
| Custom sample | Review of a buyer-specific design, structure and finish | Custom sampling normally takes 7–10 working days. |
Not every order needs the same sample route. The choice may depend on design complexity, approval rules and how closely the physical result must be checked before bulk production. A custom sample can support a design decision, but its approval and authorization for bulk production remain distinct project steps. See custom sampling and prototyping for the full comparison.
Select the Right OEM or ODM Working Model
OEM and ODM describe different levels of factory involvement. Under an OEM model, we produce from a buyer-supplied design or specification. Under an ODM model, we add design and product-development input to help turn a concept or sourcing goal into a defined product.
Both models can use the same controlled project path: requirement confirmation, artwork proof, engineering review, sample production when selected, bulk progress tracking and shipment follow-up. A one-to-one project manager can coordinate these stages and provide production updates by photo or video.
The right model depends on how much of the design and technical direction is already fixed. Buyers with established artwork, dimensions and construction requirements may need OEM support. Buyers starting with a sketch, reference or broad product idea may need more ODM input. Review our OEM and ODM manufacturing service to compare responsibilities and project control.
Coordinate Private Labels, Protection and Presentation Packaging
Brand control can continue beyond the metal item. Packaging may need to protect the surface during bulk handling, present an award to a recipient or prepare a promotional product for distribution. We coordinate the selected packing format with the product and order plan.
Packaging choice should reflect product size, surface exposure, presentation needs and the way the order will be distributed. Private-label details and custom box requirements should be included in the quotation scope. More options are covered under private label and custom packaging.
Standard anti-scratch packing
Separates and protects finished surfaces during handling.
OPP bags
Provide individual product separation for organized distribution.
Bubble protection
Adds protection where products or components may contact each other in transit.
Velvet boxes
Support formal award, coin or gift presentation.
Paper display boxes
Provide a presentation format that can be reviewed for branded projects.
Plastic display boxes
Keep the product visible while contained.
Plan Order Quantity and Production Time with the Design
The standard MOQ is 100 pieces per design. A 50-piece trial order may be supported for selected products, subject to design, process and project review. The smaller trial quantity is not available for every product or design, so feasibility must be confirmed before it is treated as the order basis.
Standard bulk production takes 15–20 working days. Expedited production support is available, subject to project review. This period covers production rather than a guaranteed delivery date. Sampling, buyer approvals, packaging preparation, transport and destination handling may affect the wider schedule.
Production planning is more reliable when the quotation identifies separate designs or versions, the required quantity for each, packaging needs and the destination. A change after proof or sample approval can affect the planned route and timing, especially when it alters tooling or construction.
Match Shipping Support to Your Delivery Responsibilities
After production planning, the transport mode and trade term define how the order moves and where responsibility changes. Gairun supports international express, air, sea and rail transport. Available trade terms include EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP and DAP.
No single combination is right for every shipment. The decision depends on destination, order size, schedule, customs arrangements and the responsibilities your organization can manage. For example, a buyer requesting destination delivery needs a different quotation scope from a buyer collecting under EXW or managing the main freight under FOB.
Include the destination, required schedule, preferred transport route and requested trade term in your inquiry. We can then review the shipping scope with the product, packaging and production plan. Detailed responsibility points are available through our international shipping and trade support.
