A wood-and-metal plaque is a suitable choice when an award needs a formal, structured presentation with clear space for both branding and personal recognition. The wood base provides the main plaque form. Custom metal components carry the visual identity and award information.

The first design decision is the role of the plaque. A one-time executive award may place more focus on the recipient and message. Plan the Wood Base and Metal Areas as One Layout
The base and metal elements should be mapped together before detailed artwork begins. This prevents the logo, name and message from competing for space and helps establish balanced margins around each component.
Common layout routes include one main metal plate that carries all award content or several metal elements with separate roles. For example, a formed emblem may hold the logo while another plate contains the recipient name and citation. These routes are subject to engineering review because the artwork, plaque dimensions, orientation and chosen production process affect the final arrangement.

For a series of personalized plaques, separate fixed content from variable content. Fixed content may include the logo, program title and standard message. Variable content may include recipient names, departments, dates or award levels. Submit a final, checked recipient list and identify every field that changes. Select Metal and Forming Methods for the Artwork
The metal component can be made from zinc alloy, brass, iron, stainless steel or aluminum. The right direction depends on the shape, relief, graphic detail, surface treatment and relationship between the metal areas and the wood base. Our engineering team reviews these factors before recommending a material or forming route.
Available forming capabilities include die-casting, stamping or die-struck forming, photo etching and hydraulic high relief. A dimensional emblem may require a different route from a flat inscription plate. Fine lines, raised borders, recessed areas and sculpted features must be assessed in the context of the complete plaque design.
Material selection should follow the artwork and production review. We do not make a blanket material recommendation based only on the award type.

Use Finish and Color to Separate Important Details
Metal finish creates contrast between the plaque base, logo, border and written content. Gairun provides gold, silver, nickel, black nickel, antique bronze, antique silver and dual-plating options. Sandblasting and matte finishes can also change how selected metal areas appear under light.
Color can be added through soft enamel or imitation hard enamel. Screen printing and UV printing are available for graphics that call for printed treatment, while clear epoxy can be considered as a surface coating. The right process depends on the artwork, the size of each detail and the desired relationship between colored and exposed metal areas.
For example, a metal logo may use plating and enamel to separate brand colors, while a text plate may use a simpler finish that keeps names and messages easy to read. A useful design review starts with the complete content and physical requirements. Provide the logo, exact award wording, checked recipient data, intended plaque dimensions, portrait or landscape orientation, quantity, finish preferences and packaging or presentation notes.

During first-article inspection, dimensions, thickness and relief details are compared with the approved drawing after mold engraving and trial forming. Review Samples, Assembly and Inspection Evidence
Existing stock samples are free and can help buyers assess general metal forming, finishing and presentation. Delivery cost is confirmed separately. A stock sample is not a plaque made from your artwork and does not confirm the final appearance of a custom design.
Custom sampling normally takes 7–10 working days. A design-specific sample allows the buyer to review the plaque layout, metal treatment, wording and assembled appearance before bulk production. Any requested change should be recorded against the proof so that the revised design remains clear.

Prepare Quantity, Packaging and Quote Details
The standard minimum order quantity is 100 pieces per design. A 50-piece trial order may be considered for selected products after the design, process requirements and overall project are reviewed. Personalized names or messages should be included in the order brief so the number of versions can be assessed with the total quantity.
Standard anti-scratch packing is available for bulk orders. Other options include individual OPP bags, bubble protection, velvet boxes, paper display boxes and plastic display boxes. Packaging should match the way the plaques will be stored, shipped and presented. A formal award handed to one recipient may need a different presentation format from plaques distributed across several offices.
